Media Training
Media Training from TCA prepares you fully for dealing with the tough demands of the press,
television, radio, and the internet. Through interview role-play
sessions and videotaped feedback, we work with you on taking control of your organisation's essential
key messages, as well as on matters such as voice and body language.
Our media
training courses are handled by people skilled both as journalists and
trainers. As
well as having vast media, journalism and media training experience,
Tony Charlesworth’s university teaching work gives him additional skills
as a trainer.
Media training courses are tailored to your specific requirements
unlike many of the off-the-shelf services on the market. We work with you in a
broadcast television or radio studio, or, if you prefer, we can bring our broadcast
teams to your premises. The
media is booming, with 24 hours, 7 days a week television and radio, as well as
vast numbers of newspapers, magazines, journals and websites. So the opportunities
to promote yourself and your organisation are enormous. That’s the good
news. But it means that you and your spokespeople need training to prepare yourselves
properly for the demands of the media. Above all, you need to know how to handle
media interviews effectively to make the most of the opportunity for positive
publicity. Learning to communicate well in media interviews means regarding
the media as an opportunity for you and your organisation, rather than a threat.
Media training is about learning the techniques for avoiding
the many pitfalls that await the unprepared. These are pitfalls which could, in
the few short minutes of a media interview or conversation with a journalist,
turn out to be disastrous for your personal reputation as well as that of your
organisation. | |
